Some say Lola’s are HAWT.  Some say Lola’s are the worst thing to hit the grid since viewer 2.  What I say when asked about Lola’s is I think they are both silly and fun.  I actually have me a a pair of zee Lola’s and pull out them once in a while when I am in a whimsical mood.  Whimsical, you might ask? YES, whimsical! In my opinion, Lola’s were not designed to be realistic – they are a cartoon, manga, anime version of boobs. Now whether or not the creator will agree with me is another thing, though, all together!  I mean, look at the nips on these puppies – they look like they are lifting their lips to sky singing their praises to the goddess of nipples!  Once on a gorean forums thread discussing zee Lolas IN DETAIL,  I called them “attacking nipples” and the description seemed to stick throughout the thread.

Speaking of SL Gor, zee Lola’s have a huge and very, very vocal fanbase there. In fact at times, I felt like when it comes to the gorean role play community, you can create a huge drama by merely joking about them (here and here). Some of you who have known me over the years will acknowledge at times I can be a bit outspoken – sometimes even to my detriment!  So when I and a fellow player (both of us largely slave character players too) pointed out how funny it was to see a free woman character displaying her nipples for all the world to see, you would think we had insulted her intelligence!  If you play the character as the book seems to communicate to me, the last thing a modest free woman would display so openly are her nipples!

For the record, I am fine with Lola’s – in fact I think they can be campy fun.   Although, I have hard time really taking these attachments seriously or consider them all that sexy. But as an accessory I think they have a lot of potential (in whatever way you see fit) and I say rock those Lola’s ladies….ROCK ON!

The End of the World by Dana Gioia

“We’re going,” they said, “to the end of the world.”
So they stopped the car where the river curled,
And we scrambled down beneath the bridge

Sacrebleu, do I look major French stereotype here or what!. Speaking of the phrase “sacrebleu,” my friend Sasi informed my partner Xamirus that there is no such phrase used by native French speakers. “MERDE!” I exclaimed, “Damn that Agatha Christie and her falsehoods.”

Edited to add:  Sasi, in her very french way, corrected the above statement.  Apparently Xamirus said “Sacre Bleu” and not “Sacrebleu” which does exist but is very old fashioned thing to say.  :)

Green Gables
Here I stand watching the door for you; waiting, anticipating our time together tonight.   “A single please – latte with skim milk,” I order from the guy behind the counter. I lean on the bar and watch him steam my milk but still manage to keep one eye on the door.  Behind me, I hear the tinkling of the doorbell over and over as customers enter and exit, waiting for your familiar figure grace the entrance.

With drink in hand, I find my way to empty table and take a few sips of my latte, aimlessly looking at my phone.  Finally, you enter – a rush of fresh air behind you, a swirl of leaves at your feet.  I smile; you walk to me and our night begins.

A Lady who Lunches

It was almost 11:00am and the woman had yet to dress for scheduled lunch date with friends. She sat in front of her vanity mirror, with a makeup brush in one hand, as she stared at her reflection. “I am thirty-five today and what have I accomplished,” she said to herself as she began to apply her eye makeup. “I am college educated, haven’t worked in over ten years, married well – I live a life that many women merely dream of. So why do I feel so….bored.” She pressed her lips together as she examined her face, noticing the dewiness of a twenty something’s skin was slowly fading. “Blush,” she mumbled, “I need a new shade of blush and that should help bring back that fresh look I used to have.”

After she was done dressing, she stepped outside her New York City apartment and sauntered down the landing stairs. Once she reached the sidewalk, she stopped and looked up and down her Upper East Side street with smile. “Maybe this will be the year I change things up a bit,” she said to herself with a bit of a chuckle. “In fact, I might just take the subway today – I am feeling adventurous.” Throwing her head back in laughter, she began the walk to the subway station. With each step she began to feel once again like that twenty-three year old woman, newly arrived in the city she now calls home.

The land was always cursed, or so the old fisherman say. No one can take to the land, or maybe the land would take to no one. Whatever the case, the stories are all the same. People came and went, erecting various alters to a host of varied gods in hopes of appeasing the spirits that dwell within the marsh.Boats go missing in the foggy harbors of the small island, crews and merchandise too. Strange lights dance among the ancient trees as the three moons rise to devour the sun. Sirens call to the sailors, that’s what the most sea-hardened captains say to explain away the screams that roll like waves from the shore.

Welcome to The Dire Marsh – a new concept/sim developed by Skerry of Einar players Hungry Python and Exhibitionista Nirvana and it is gorgeous.  I spent a couple days roaming about recently and I cannot wait to figure out what how I can bring my pretty little slave girl out to play there!  Most of the structures on the sim were developed by Hungry using such programs as 3DMax; I can’t imagine what he will turn out when he finally embraces mesh!

From Hungry’s Post on Gor-SL, he describes the concept as follows:

The Dire Marsh is a non-metered-combat Gorean immersion role play simulator that is non-partisan. What this means is that we allow both GE (Gor Evolved) and BtB (By the Book) role players to join the simulator and create simple, or complex scenes.

We do not expect everyone to agree with the setting, however we invite those with open minds to come and check it out; even if you are rather closed minded about your Gorean role play, I do intend to remind you that you are in no way forced to role play with someone on the simulator that is beyond your thresh-hold of what Gor is to you.

It was a quiet moment for Elle at the end of a very long day.  So many changes in her life the past week or so and today she was just simply tired.  Elle’s taste of freedom was sweet and brief but now once again she was now enslaved.  There is a belief among a Goreans that a freed slave never stays free for long – that something about her slavery never quite goes away.  It could be the way she walks, the way she touches her hair or the way the holes in ear marked her piercings that give away her true nature.  But for whatever reason, Elle was captured by a man of Clearchus then made his by a simple click of a collar about her neck. 

But this man is a bit different it seems since it appears he saw not only the slave in Elle but also a glimmer of the free woman she once was.  The reality of Gor is that it doesn’t matter if she has a good amount of free in her – for a woman on Gor with even a smidgen of slave makes her one in the eyes of men.  For now though she spends her days in his service, not only as his slave but he has grown to trust Elle enough to allow him to use her knowledge as a scribe for his use.  So after a long days work, her eyes going over ledger after ledger after ledger, she was lucky enough to find a moment alone to just simply think.
