Elle's World

Quietly she sat on the dock just outside the outlaw village of Clearchus her eyes scanning the palisades surrounding the camp. Elle had been as slave in the outlaw village for many months prior to being sold off to the mysterious mercenary once of Treve who, sadly, was now on a journey to the City of Dust.  As a slave in Clearchus on those rare moments when she was allowed outside the village, Elle would immediately find her way to this very dock where she would sit with her feet dangling into the stream.  And now, she once again sat on the edge of the dock swirling the water about with her toes.  But this time it was different:  Elle sat upon on the dock for the first time as a free woman and not as a slave any longer.

Digging through her bag Elle finds her old worn veil her brother gave her a few days prior – the one he kept in memory of her amongst his own belongings once he discovered she had been taken from her home in Jad by the warriors of Ar.  Prior to her enslavement, Elle’s brother was her protector as she worked along side him as an accountant in the slave house where they were both employed - and now he was her emancipator.

Left in Tyros after the death of her Love Master, Elle’s brother spotted his sister while she was serving in a local Paga Tavern.  As they spoke to one another, he saw in her eyes her desire to no longer be a slave.  Then oddly, the man took pity upon his sister something that happens so little in Gor.  He bought her then freed her but refused to take her home to her beloved island home of Cos out of fear of shaming his family.  Instead, Elle’s brother brought her along his journey to the Sardar after he left Tyros to prepare a spot for the slave house for an upcoming Sardar Fair.  For many hands they traveled but she never made it to the Sardar.  Instead her brother left her in the woods of Clearchus just outside the feared Outlaw Camp.

So now she sits outside the outlaw camp, clutching the veil in her hand as if it was all she had left in this world.  Looking up at the camp, she affixes the veil to her face in attempt to hide who she is as she contemplates entering the village.  The former slave is delighted and ashamed all the same time:  Delighted about her newly found freedom but ashamed by the fact that she is now a homeless, destitute women.  But being the survivor that she is, Elle will soon find her pride and place in this world once again.

With a smile under her veil, Elle rises with the grace and pride she once had a slave of much value as she takes her first step towards the village – but this time as a free woman.
