She was beginning her journey now, a path followed by the women of her family for many generations. As young Fae, she was only allowed to go so far into the forest without the protection of her family. But now she was taking her first steps towards becoming the matriarchal leader of her clan. Just an hour or so ago, she met with the priestess of her village who instructed her spend the night a deep, mysterious section of the forest she had never been before.
Precariously she stepped into the woods, fear surging up and down her spine. She closed her eyes for a few moments, took in a long breath and said to herself assuring words. Slowly, so very slowly, the Fae opened her eyes and took her first step towards womanhood. Suddenly a feeling of joy swept over her body and she was no longer afraid. Now, her journey truly began.
