Elle’s World is the world known as Gor. In Second Life Gorean ways are often the subject of ridicule and satire among mainstreamers both in and out of fashion. Much of this is due to the lack of understanding when it comes the community members and what they stand for. Many of the community members entered the world of Gor long before the inception of Second Life. Online Gor has its roots in textual environments such as Yahoo and IRC and eventually made its way into the virtual world. Gor is about honor, truth, power struggles and romance. It is not just about slaves and the masters that control them. Gor has added much to the world of Second Life and is currently over 300 sims strong. Its rich tapestry of creativity includes many dedicated artists in the fields of fashion, home design and decor and has helped to push the envelope for some mainstream fashion creators as well. Goreans contribute much in terms of the economy of Second Life, its culture and spirit of giving. This year the Gorean RFL team, Gorean in the Relay for life, earned over 3 million lindens for the cause. You cannot deny their heart and dedication to this virtual world.

My plan is to tailor my blog as if you were a reader who is new or unfamiliar with Gor – kind of like a web portal in a way. I am new to Gor and the world of fantasy role play in second life. I hope to give you a peak inside Gor’s often times locked gates by way of fashion presentation and sim exploration.  You will find that I have sectioned out my blog into the following categories with corresponding pages for easy searching.  The most relevant for you as a current or future role player are:

• Explore Gor – sim exploration and adventure
• Where to Shop – a snapshot of some of the stores in SL featuring Gorean fashion
• Gorean Roles – A summary of the different roles in Gor.  I may at some point go into “caste” roles as well.
• My Story – my personal journey as a “character” in Gor
